I don't feel it enhances the MMX experience.

The voice acting, while not the worst, was not an addition I appreciated.

X4 is my favorite of the PS1 MegaMan X trilogy, but I like the SNES X and X2 better. What's your take on all this? Am I missing something here? Is there anybody else who doesn't like this game? Is there something wrong with me? Am I even allowed to dislike X4? However, I'm struggling to keep playing X4 and it's very frustrating.

It's weird that I'm obsessing over a game this much but I really want to like it because overall X is too good a series to give up on just yet. And especially when it's supposedly the best game in the series, there must be at least a few redeeming qualities to it. What puzzles me though is that I can't exactly put my finger on what's wrong with it. Normally, I would just brush it off thinking fine, it's not my cup of tea. The soundtrack is solid, if not unremarkable. The gameplay feels familiar but something's different. At first I thought the graphics and the platform jump made it a bit jarring so I forced myself to stick to it and I beat the first 5 bosses expecting it to grow on me. But for whatever reason I just can't bring myself to like it. Now, this is supposedly the best game in the series and everyone seems to love it. Loved the gameplay, the soundtrack, the storyline (whatever little there was of it anyway).
